Tom Hanks Gave a Corona Typewriter to a Bullied Kid . . . Named Corona

Corona beer isn’t having a great time right now, but I bet I know someone who has it worse:  There’s an 8-year-old kid in Australia named Corona De Vries, and he’s been dealing with bullies.

But, as he pretty much always does, Tom Hanks swooped in to make things better.  Tom became pen pals with Corona when he and Rita Wilson were still in Australia recovering from COVID-19.  And Tom even gave the kid the vintage Corona brand typewriter he had brought with him.

Tom wrote him a letter, on the Corona saying, “You’re the only person I’ve ever known to have the name Corona, like the ring around the sun, a crown.  I thought this typewriter would suit you.  Ask a grown up how it works.  And use it to write me back.  P.S. You got a friend in ME!”
