I really don’t want to ruin your day, but this story is likely to make you at least a little sad. Actress Edie McClurg is suffering from dementia, and possibly being taken advantage of.
Edie is probably best known for playing the principal’s secretary in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. But she’s done TONS of other movies and TV shows, including voice work in “The Little Mermaid”, “Cars”, and “Frozen”. Even if you don’t know her, you know her.
Well, some of Edie’s relatives are trying to get a conservatorship to take over her affairs. They say she can’t do it herself anymore, and they’re worried about a longtime male friend who might be trying to take advantage of her.
Edie is 72 years old. (Check out her classic line from “Ferris Bueller”. WARNING: she says the D-word at the 44-seond mark.)
And check out her impressive resume here. It goes all the way back to the ’70s, when she played a HIGH SCHOOL KID in “Carrie”.
