Remember Free Wendy’s “Nuggs” Guy? Here’s How Many He Ate in a Year

On April 5th of last year, a guy named Carter Wilkerson from right here in Reno, Nevada tweeted to Wendy’s asking how many retweets he’d need to get for free “nuggs” for a year.  They played along and told him 18 million.

He ended up getting more than 3.4 million retweets in a month.  That wasn’t 18 million, but it did set an ALL-TIME record . . . so Wendy’s agreed to give him free chicken nuggets for a year.

Well . . . yesterday was the one-year anniversary of his tweet.  So the British website Metro News checked in with him to see how many free nuggs he actually wound up eating.

And the answer is . . . not THAT many.  “I’d say I’ve eaten over 400, but I’m not 100% sure.”

If that number is right, it’s around 33 a month . . . which is kind of disappointing.  It also means he’s eaten one nugget for every 8,500 or so retweets.
