Big & Rich Met a Fan Just Hours Before He Was Killed in Sunday’s Shooting

In an interview with E!, Big & Rich talked about meeting a young fan on Sunday, only to find out that he died hours later in the shooting.  They had performed earlier that day and did the usual stuff like meeting fans before the show.

Here’s John Rich talking about it,  “One guy that was in our meet-and-greet before the show, 25-year-old kid, passed away.  We had just met him before the show, but this bright-eyed kid was so excited to meet Big & Rich.  And he was one of the guys, you know.  We just shook his hand a couple hours before that.  It’s unthinkable.”

John also suggested that Sunday’s tragedy will change the way concerts happen.  Kind of like how we have to remove our shoes before a flight thanks to the shoe bomber.  “It’s gonna change the way artists and fans look at a concert.   It’s gonna change the way security operates.  And it’s going to change the way everybody associated with a country music event looks at it.  The reverberations of it are epic.”
